The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa opened on August 17, 2002, two blocks away from his former studio, celebrating his life's work and the art of cartooning. A bronze statue of Charlie Brown and Snoopy stands in Depot Park in downtown Santa Rosa.”

This past weekend I had the honor of doing a short residency at the Schulz museum! It was my first time there, and to be honest I was blown away by how cool the museum was. It’s a two-story building with theater rooms and outside eating areas, and the museum itself gave me way more insight into Snoopy and Charlie Brown then I knew existed.

The employees there were incredibly nice, and I had a chance to meet Charles’ wife, Jean- also incredibly nice.

To sum up my experience, I’d go back anytime they ask. Amazing place!

Kids and adults have stuff to experience at the museum, from interactive displays and movies, to in-depth studies of Charles and his influences.
